Different variants may use different fuel injectors — and the same displacement may use a different injector depending on production period. MerCruiser® 350 / 5.7L MPI engines may use different fuel injectors depending on engine variant, production period, engine-management generation, and serial range. Earlier EFI/MPI production, ECM-555 generation (2002–2007), and later ECM-555 transition (2007–2008) each use different injectors. Verify the existing OEM injector number and engine serial number before ordering.

Model year alone is not enough. Confirm all four of the following before selecting a replacement injector.

Exact engine model

Confirm the full engine model designation from your data plate — for example, 350 MAG MPI, 350 MAG MPI Bravo, or 5.7L MPI. Similar names can indicate different injector families.

Engine serial number

Locate the serial number on your engine data plate. Serial ranges are the most reliable way to confirm which injector was factory-fitted to your specific engine.

Existing OEM or injector number

If you have the OEM part number from the original injector or a service manual, this is the most direct identification method. Cross-reference it against the table below.

Physical injector characteristics

Connector type, body length, O-ring configuration and any visible markings or colour bands can help confirm the injector family. Use physical characteristics together with OEM/serial verification, not as the sole method.

The MerCruiser® 350 MPI / 5.7L family uses more than one injector family across its production run, spanning multiple engine-management generations. Earlier EFI/MPI production uses 12609192 or 861260T. ECM-555 generation (approx. 2002–2007) uses 885176. Later ECM-555 transition (approx. 2007–2008) uses 879312003. Do not assume displacement alone determines the injector — verify by engine model, serial range, and existing OEM part number.
