90-Day Limited Parts Warranty

Discount Marine Parts Direct provides a 90-day limited parts warranty on eligible aftermarket components sold through this website, beginning on the original date of purchase.

The limited warranty applies to defects in materials or workmanship under normal intended use.

Warranty Remedy

If an eligible component is determined to be defective during the warranty period, Discount Marine Parts Direct may, at its option:

  • replace the defective component; or
  • refund the original purchase price of the defective component.

The warranty applies to the component itself.

Unless required by applicable law, the warranty does not cover labor, installation, removal, diagnostics, troubleshooting, towing, haul-out, transportation, loss of use, lost time, consequential expenses, or other costs associated with diagnosing or replacing the component.

What Is Not Covered

Warranty coverage does not apply to damage or failure caused by:

  • incorrect application or fitment;
  • incorrect diagnosis;
  • improper installation;
  • improper wiring or electrical conditions;
  • abnormal voltage;
  • fuel contamination;
  • water, debris, corrosion, or foreign material;
  • incorrect fuel pressure;
  • modification or alteration;
  • abuse or misuse;
  • overheating;
  • failure of another engine or fuel-system component;
  • normal wear; or
  • use inconsistent with the component's intended application.

Installing a replacement component without resolving an underlying engine, electrical, fuel, or contamination problem does not establish that the replacement component is defective.

Customers should provide:

  • order number;
  • engine model;
  • engine serial number when available;
  • OEM/reference part number;
  • description of the problem; and
  • relevant diagnostic information.

We may request reasonable troubleshooting information, photographs, test results, or return of the component for inspection before determining warranty eligibility.

Fitment

Fitment information provided by Discount Marine Parts Direct is intended to help customers identify appropriate replacement components.

MerCruiser engine applications can vary based on:

  • engine serial number;
  • model year and production range;
  • engine-management system;
  • fuel-system architecture;
  • production changes;
  • superseded components;
  • previous repairs;
  • engine modifications; and
  • repowers.

Customers should verify the OEM part number, engine model, serial-number range, and existing component whenever reasonably possible before ordering.

If the available information does not agree, STOP and contact us before ordering.

Aftermarket Products

Unless expressly identified as a genuine OEM product, products sold by Discount Marine Parts Direct are aftermarket replacement components.

References to OEM numbers are provided for identification, cross-reference, and compatibility purposes.

The 90-day limited warranty is provided by Discount Marine Parts Direct for eligible products and should not be interpreted as a warranty from Mercury Marine, Brunswick Corporation, or another OEM.

Nothing in this warranty limits rights that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
